Snipesville New Year's Day Parade - Fun and festivities ring in the new year at this unique parade. 

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade - Celebrating the accomplishments of Martin Luther King Jr., the parade features floats, marching bands, church groups, and much more. Sponsored by the Community League, Inc.


Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale 

Peaches to Beaches Yard Sale - Stretching for over 200 miles, the yard sale follows the Golden Isles Highway (Highway 341) from Barnesville to Brunswick with Hazlehurst as the midpoint of the trail. The two official sites in Hazlehurst host close to 100 different vendors. The even is coordinated by the Golden Isles Parkway Association and sponsored locally by the Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Board of Tourism. For more information, visit


Confluence of Ocmulgee and Oconee Rivers to form the Altamaha

Three Rivers Paddle - - Experience three of Georgia's great rivers -- Ocmulgee, Oconee & the mighty Altamaha -- during this two day, family friendly camping & paddling event, is based at Towns Bluff Park. Jointly sponsored by the Board of Tourism along with the Georgia Conservancy. 


Hazlehurst BBQ Fest - BBQin' at the Big House 

Three Rivers BBQ Fest - - Professional pitmasters from across the state converge on Jeff Davis County the first full weekend in May each year to compete for over $5,000 in cash and trophies. The cook-off is sanctioned by the Georgia Barbecue Association and is sponsored by the Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Board of Tourism. 

Three Rivers Cultural Arts Festival Held the last weekend in April each year, local artisans display their craft at the Heritage Center. Local music groups and school bands play on the banks of the Altamaha River under the stately pines of the park. Sponsored by Friends of Towns Bluff Park. Visit for more info.

Spring Truck & Tractor Pull - Come experience the raw power of the trucks and tractors in this thrilling competition. Held at the pulling track at the Jeff Davis County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by the Jeff Davis Young Farmers. 


Georgia Great Steak Cook-Off Contest - Participants test their culinary skills at this annual event where the name says it all. Designated by the state legislature as the Official Steak Cook-off State Championship, bragging rights are almost as important as the beautiful trophies and cash awards.  Full of fun and good tastes, the event continues to grow each year. Saddle Sore & Mule Poor Trail Ride


Safe and Sober & Mule Poor Trail Ride -Sponsored by the Jeff Davis Safe and Sober Committee, participants enjoy fellowship around the campfire on Friday night and then Saturday is filled with horseback riding along the banks of the Altamaha River at Bullard Creek Wildlife Management Area followed by a chuck wagon lunch. 


Jeff Davis County Fair - Rides and entertainment abound along the grass-covered midway. The Jeff Davis County Fair at the Jeff Davis County Fairgrounds has it all, including live animals, cotton candy, caramel corn, arts and crafts, and plenty of homemade fun and food. Sponsored by the Jeff Davis Co Fair Association.

Fall Truck & Tractor Pull - The massive pulling trucks and tractors return for the fall competition at the Jeff Davis County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by the Jeff Davis Young Farmers.

Cotton Festival - An day of family fun awaits young and old alike. Music, Art & Crafts vendors, beauty pagent and more. Sponsored by the Friends of Jeff Davis.


1890 Homestead 

1890 Homestead Celebration - A step back into the past. Experience cane grinding, syrup making, quilting, and more at the restored 1890 Homestead located at the Jeff Davis County Fairgrounds. Tour the McNeal House, the Commissary and a late 19th century church. Sponsored by the Jeff Davis County Fair Association.

Veterans Day Memorial Service and Parade - Jeff Davis County pauses to pay tribute to those who have served our great nation in both peacetime and wartime. Sponsored by the Jeff Davis Veterans Association.


Christmas Parade - Santa and his elves busy themselves along the night time parade route with lighted floats, bands, live animals, and much more. Following the parade, head over the the Big House for hot chocolate and cookies before getting your picture taken with Santa. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Tourism.
